• The Chatham County United Chamber of Commerce will hold its October Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, October 16, at the North Carolina Arts Incubator, 227 N. Chatham Avenue, in Siler City. The meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m.
• The Chatham County United Chamber of Commerce will have a Business After Hours, sponsored by the North Carolina Arts Incubator, on Thursday October 16 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Location for the Business After Hours is 227 N. Chatham Ave., Siler City. Bring your business cards and enjoy an evening of networking while touring the Arts Incubator.
• The Chatham County Soil and Water Conservation District meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference room downstairs in the Agricultural Building in Pittsboro. This is an open meeting. If you would like additional information please contact our office at 919-542-8240.
• The Southeast Chatham Citizen's Advisory Council (SCCAC) meets every 3rd Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at Liberty Chapel Church, Moncure. We welcome and encourage participation of all residents, businesses and organizations within our community.
• At McIntyre's Fearrington...: On Saturday, Oct. 11, 11am- Margaret Maron will read from her book, Last Lessons of Summer, Sunday, Oct. 12, 2pm - Frederick Barton will read from his book, A House Divided. McIntyre's offers Pre-School storytime every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
• Every Monday at 6:30 p.m. for the month of October Narcotics Anonymous meetings will be held at Alston Chapel Church.
• Gather for an old-fashioned tailgate rock swap to trade and/or sell gemstones, minerals, arrowheads, fossils, or lapidary epuipment. No jewelry. The fun-filled educational event will be held Saturday, October 11,includes hot dogs, NC barbeque, soft drinks and more. Free. Event begins at 9am.
