• Chatham ADD/ADHD Parent Group meets Thursday, Oct. 30 from 6:30-7:30pm at Chatham County Together! Call 542-5155 for more info or if you have questions.
• The Chatham Charter School Board will conduct its monthly business meeting on Friday, November 14th at 8:00 a.m. at the school. This meeting is open to the public.
• Chatham Animal Rescue and Education (CARE) Canine Behavior Lectures. "Preventing Puppy Problems" Thursday November 6 at 7 p.m. Lectures are free and held at the Pittsboro Library. Lectures presented by Barbara Long, CPDT (certified Pet Dog Trainer).
• Community Independent School invite you to an Open House. Come browse and chat with the director, preschool and elementary teachers and enrolled families on Sunday, November 2, from 1-4pm. Children are welcome. 2089 Lamont Norwood Rd. Just minutes from Carrboro and Chapel Hill, in north Chatham County. Please call for directions, 932-6313. www.cisnc.com.

• The Chatham County Council on Aging will feature artwork of Ann Lee until November 27. Art gallery hours are the same as the senior center hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The public is invited to view the exhibits during these times.

• Join the Council on Aging travelers club as they enjoy a day of shopping at Kohl's and Cary Towne Center. The group will leave from the Roses (Flea Mall) parking lot in Siler City at 8:30 am and the Council on Aging in Pittsboro at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5. Cost for this trip is $8. • Nature Arts and Crafts at Jordan Lake, November, 1, 1pm. Visitors can make dream catchers, tin punch art, corn shuck dolls, and jewelry from natural items! Meet at park office on US 64. Pre registration is required (919)362-0586.
• Author events at McIntyre's Fine Books; Nov. 1, 11am, Sheri Holman, will read from her book, "The Mammoth Cheese", Nov. 2, 2pm, John Rolfe will read from his book "Counterpoint, Doublestitch".

• Jack-o'-lantern Display, October 30 - November 2. Elaborately carved jack-o-lanterns on display throughout Fearrington Village. The jack-o-lanterns, intricately carved by Horticulturist Frances LeRoy and her gardening staff, will be lit each evening from sundown until 10pm. Free.

• Every Monday at 6:30 p.m. for the Entire month of November Narcotics Anonymous meetings will be held at Alston Chapel Church.

• American Red Cross Fundraiser will be at Asheboro High School Auditorium November 29 at 6 p.m. The Isaacs, Tim Moon & True Grass will be performing. Adults $10 in advance, $12 at the door, Children (12 and under) $5 in advance, $7 at door. Contact the Mid-Carolina Chapter at (336) 629-2399 for tickets.

• The Motorcycle Association for Chatham , Western Wake, Lee, Orange, and Alamance Counties meets in Pittsboro and is open to all riders for information call 919-392-3939 or visit www.ChathamCBA.com.
• Chatham County Together, a volunteer mentoring program for disadvantaged children and youth, seek new volunteers. A training will be held in Pittsboro on Saturday, November 8, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, with lunch to follow. Call 542-5155 to register.
