• The Southeast Chatham Citizen's Advisory Council (SCCAC) meets every 3rd Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at Liberty Chapel Church, Moncure.  We welcome and encourage participation of all residents, businesses and organizations within our community.

• If you or your organization would like to participate in the Siler City Christmas Parade, December 1, or would like to sponsor , please contact the Chamber of Commerce office at 919-742-3333 to receive an application and further information.  Entries must be received by November 20.

 • The Pastel Society of North Carolina meeting will take place on November 15, from 2-4, at Carol Woods, 750 Weaver Dairy Rd., Chapel Hill.  Interested parties may call 968-8842, 942-4942 or 408-0613.  Bring a painting for Critiques.attend.
• The East Chatham Rescue Squad is having their portrait fund drive for the next several weeks.  Families will be contacted by phone and asked to make a pledge.  Each family that pledges receives a beautiful 10x13 Portrait, compliments of the Rescue Squad.  Proceeds are going towards purchasing a new crash truck.  They appreciate your past support and look forward to your help this year.
 • The Winnie Davis Chapter #259 UDC will meet Friday, November 14 at 11:30 a.m. at BestFood Cafeteria.
• SeniorNet, the volunteer-run organization that teaches computer use and offers free workshops to senior citizens will register for winter classes beginning 8 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, at Chapel Hill Senior Center, 400A, South Elliott Road in Chapel Hill.
• “Surviving Canine Adolescence” Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. at the Pittsboro Library.  Chatham Animal Rescue and Education (CARE) sponsors canine behavior lectures presented by Barbara Long, CPDT (certified pet trainer).
• Randolph County’s Alzheimer’s Support Group Network, a support group for the Carolina Piedmont Alzheimer’s Association, would like to invite those interested to attend their upcoming meeting.  at John Tote Room, Cross Roads Retirement Community, 1302 Old Cox Road, Asheboro.  Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 7:00 p.m..  Topic, “A Time of Questions & Answers about Dementia.”

• The Chatham County Public Health Department and Community Diabetes Advocates are holding a diabetes support group on November 24, at 6:30 p.m. at JOCCA, 1401 N. Ross Avenue in Siler City.

The speaker will be health educator Sarah Worley.  Participants will be able move around and some group exercises.  Wear comfortable clothing.
