• The Motorcycle Association for Chatham, Western Wake, Lee, Orange, and Alamance Counties meets in Pittsboro and is open to all riders. For information, call (919) 392-3939 or visit www.ChathamCBA.com.

• Come join the fun and music, November 20 at Reno Sharpe’s Store for Bluegrass from 10 am until we’re tired. Free and open to the public. Bring Acoustic instruments only.

• The USDA Rural Development Office in Sanford, located at 2416 Tramway Road, will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

• The Chatham Council on Aging is planning a one-day bus trip to Fayetteville to visit the Airborne and Special Operations Museum on Tuesday, November 23. The bus will leave the Pittsboro Senior Center at 8:45 am and return by 4 pm. Cost is $7. Limited seating. Lunch at K&W. Call 919-542-4512, for more information.

• Chicago Style Bluesman Bob Margolin will appear with the Matt Hill Blues Band at the Sunset Theatre, 234 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro on Saturday, November 20 at 8 pm. Admission, $10 – no advance sale of tickets. This attraction is primarily of interest to adults.

• The 23^rd annual Seagrove Pottery Festival will be held Sat. –Sunday, November 20, 21 from 10 am to 6 pm, both days at the Seagrove Elementary School. More than 100 area potters and traditional craftspeople will be participating, representing a variety of styles, shapes, and textures. An auction of limited edition pottery, signed and dated specifically for the Festival, will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday. Food will be available for purchase. Special buyers preview, Sat., 10 am to noon $10; general admission, $5 each day.

• This week’s author events at McIntyre’s: Nov. 18, 7 pm, Barbara Stone Perry will discuss her catalogue, North Carolina Pottery, The Collection of the Mint Museums; Nov. 20, 11 am, historian James E. Crisp will discuss his book, Sleuthing the Alamo: Davy Cockett’s Last Stand and Other Mysteries of the Texas Revolution; and November 21 at 2 pm, Silas House will read from his novel, The CoalTattoo.
