• Veterans are invited to the Golden Corral’s Fourth Annual Military Appreciation Monday with a free buffet dinner on November 15 from 5-9 pm. U.S. Reserves and National Guard are included in this recognition offer. Local DAV 91 from Pittsboro will host this event .

• Bynum Ruritan Club will be having a BBQ Dinner on Saturday, November 13 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
• CMN Dance at the Moose Lodge, Saturday, November 13, 8 pm until…with DJ, Bill Walden. All proceeds will benefit Duke Children’s Hospital.
• The Chatham Soccer League will hold it’s annual public meeting on Thursday, November 18 at 7:30 pm in the multipurpose room at Pittsboro Elementary School. The league is an all- volunteer organization and is looking for new volunteers for the Board of Directors and to help with operation of the league. Coaches and parents of players are particularly encouraged to attend.
• This week’s author events at McIntyre’s; Saturday, Nov. 13, 11 am, author Bob Carlin, String Bands in the N.C. Piedmont; Sunday, Nov. 14, 2 pm, author, Nancy Bartholomew, Stella, Get Your Gun; and Wednesday, Nov. 17, 10:30 am, Cece Bell will read from Sock Monkey Boogie-Woogie; A Friend is Made. • The Chatham County Retired School Personnel will meet Thursday, November 11 at 11:30 in Bestfoods Cafeteria in Siler City. Speaker for the occasion will be George Greger-Holt, Chatham County Schools, who will speak on the Chatham Child Wellbeing Collaboration and other subjects. All members are urged to attend.

• “Chain Saw Artist”, featuring Clyde Jones on Bynum is scheduled to  air on the show “Monster Nation” November 18, 2004 at 7 pm on the Discovery Channel. (Check local listings to confirm since episode air-dates are subject to change.) This segment was filmed this past summer in Bynum and Pittsboro.

• Sunday, November 14 at 12:30 pm, Flavors of Fearrington, a unique community cookbook will debut in the Barn in Fearrington Village. Included are over 250 kitchen-tested dishes from creative, world-traveled Fearrington residents and Fearrington House chefs. • Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre will hold their 30th annual Molasses Festival Sunday afternoon, November 14 from 1 – 5 pm at their Drama site with molasses making, apple-butter making, homemade cider, local crafts, and gospel music. • The Chatham County Enhanced 911 Committee will meet November 15 at 10:00 am in the Emergency Operations Center located at 297 West Street, Pittsboro.
• Friday, November 19, explore the Haw River as part of the Friday Walking series at Jordan Lake. Meet in the parking lot on the SW side of US 64 at the Haw River Bridge for a 2 mi walk. Steep parts, rocky, not an established trail. Wear appropriate shoes and dress for the weather.
• The Southeast Chatham Citizen’s Advisory Council (SCCAC) will meet Tuesday, November 16, 7 pm at the Liberty Chapel Church in Moncure. All residents, businesses, and organizations within our community are urged to participate.
• Pre-School Storytime at McIntrye’s Fine Books & Bookends, every Wednesday at 10:30 am. For more information, call Sarah at (919) 542-3030.
• Every Saturday, Fowler’s of Fearrington will feature a free wine tasting from 1 to 3 pm. Pick up great tips on wine. Call 919-545-5717 for further information.
