• Flue-Cured Tobacco Coopera-tive Stabilization, will hold its annual District Meeting for District 8 (includes Chatham County) at the Kerr Scott Building on the N.C. State Fairgrounds, Monday, January 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. Flue-cured farmers are urged to make every effort to attend. |

• Chatham Marketplace will have a Grower/Producer Meeting and potluck dinner on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Building 2 Conference Room at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro. We will update potential growers and suppliers on the co-op, and discuss the co-op’s evolving purchasing policy. We are interested in hearing from dairy, meat, produce and natural product producers who are certified organic or who use sustainable practices. The group will leave from the Roses (Flea Mall) parking lot in Siler City at 6 p.m. and the Council on Aging in Pittsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 29, 2004. • The Chatham County Libraries will host the annual Senior High Quiz Bowl event on Thursday, January 22, at 7 p.m. Teams from each of the three Chatham County high schools will compete for county title. The multipurpose room on the campus of CCCC-Pittsboro will be the site and the public is invited to attend. There is no admission cost. |
