• Chatham County Republican Party will hold precinct meetings in the District Courtroom in Pittsboro, Tuesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. The County Convention will convene immediately follow-ing the precinct meetings. Delegates from Chatham County to the 2nd and 4th Congressional District Conventions and the NCGOP State Convention will be selected at the convention. • The Lions Club in cooperation with the American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive at First United Methodist Church, Siler City on February 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Levels of blood are extremely low with O-Positive and O-Negative being most critical. • Music at Reno’s, open pickin’ session, Saturday morning, Feb-ruary 21, from 10 a.m. until we run out of groups. Located on the corner of Goldston-Pittsboro Rd. and Reno Sharpe Store Road between Pittsboro and Goldston. Free and open to the public. Bring your instrument and join the fun. |

• Bonlee Post Office will be hosting Customer Appreciation Day, February 20, 8 a.m. – 11:30 and 1 p.m. – 4. Refreshments will be served. |

• Kitty and Lucian Maynard will be signing their book, “Best Recipes from American Country Inns and Bed & Breakfasts” at Paperbacks Plus on February 28 from 12 until 2 p.m. Samples made from recipes in the book will be available. |

• The Coalition for Family Peace will hold a Chili Supper and Concert 4-8 p.m., Friday, February 27 at First United Methodist Church, 1101 W. Raleigh Street in Siler City. For a $5 ticket, participants will receive a bowl of chili, cornbread, tamala, drink and dessert. Vegetarian plates will be available. Dine in or take out will be available. Music will be provided by Nu-Blu, a local bluegrass band. For more information, call 742-7320. |

• “A Night in Italy” dinner will be held at the Council on Aging, Sunday, February 22 to benefit Chatham County Together. There will be a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. (Chicken Florentine, vegetarian alternative, green salad, bread, beverage and dessert) Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased by calling CCT! at 919-542-5155.

• Fearrington Village will host the second annual Folk Art Show on Saturday, February 21 and, Sunday, February 22 in the Barn at Fearrington from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. |
| • There will be a Pancake Supper held at St. Bartholomew’s Church, 204 W. Salisbury Street, Pittsboro, on Shrove Tuesday, February 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. Adults $5, children under 12 $2, with all proceeds going to Chatham County causes. |
| • Bennett Recreation will be holding Baseball/Softball sign-ups, Sunday, February 22 at the Bennett Gym from 2-4 p.m.. Sign up for co-ed baseball, ages 4, 5, 6; softball for girls 7-15; and baseball for boys, age 7-15. There will be a $15 recreation fee. If you cannot make sign-up, call 581-3012. Anyone interest-ed, come out and sign up. |

| • RSVP Community Theatre and the George Washington Carver Community Enrichment Center will present a staged reading of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. on Friday, Febru-ary 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person with proceeds going to renew the Sunset Theatre, which can be cool this time of year, so dress warmly. |
