• The Southeast Chatham Citizen’s Advisory Council (SCCAC) will meet Tuesday, December 21 at 7 p.m. at the Liberty-Chapel Church in Moncure. Residents, business, and organizations with the community are welcome and encouraged to participate.

• The RCC Pottery Program Pottery Sale will take place in the RCC Cafeteria – Student Services on December 8 and 9 from 9 am to 9 pm. Open to pottery students and the general public. Proceeds will promote the RCC Pottery Program.

• Chatham County Department of Social Services is seeking to locate youth who have been in foster care and not yet 21 to participate in the Links Program. This program offers services to youth including funds for transitional housing, job readi-ness, and personal development. If you feel you qualify, come to an informational meeting, December 9, CCCC, Conference Room #2, 6 pm to 7:30 or contact Linda Ferguson at DSS, 919-542-2759. 
• The Sanford Chapter of the Grandchildren/Grandparents Rights of North Carolina  will hold its next meeting on  Saturday, December 11 at the Golden Corral at 3618 S. Horner Blvd. in Sanford. The meeting will begin at 1 pm.
• Bennett’s annual Christmas parade is scheduled for 4 pm on Saturday, December 11. Festivities begin at 3 pm. For more information, contact Leslie Hayes, 879-1454.
• At the Carrboro Branch Library on Sunday, December 19 at 3 pm, Mickey Mills will play steel drums and sing songs of the Caribbean in a festive holiday program. Sponsored by the library and Carrboro Parks an Recreation, the event is free and open to all ages.
• The Carrboro Branch Library’s Story Time presents: “Cocoa Ice”, Saturday, December 11 at 10:30 am.  Library is located at the McDougle Schools’ Media Center, 900 Old Fayetteville Road, Chapel Hill. Call 969-3006 for more information.
• Girls, ages 5-17 are invited to join the fun, friendship, and adventure of Girl Scouting. Girl Scout membership dues are $10 annually. For more information, contact the Chatham County Girl Scout office at 919-742-2288 or visit www.pinesofcarolina.org.
• The Randolph Arts Guild announces its December Tea in which the holidays will be celebrated with Olde English style, on Tuesday, December 14 from 3 – 4 pm at the Moring Arts Center in Asheboro. Guests will have the opportunity to create an old English ornament, learn about early English Christmas customs and decorating practices, hear period music and enjoy festive refreshments of the era.
