• The Chatham County Soil and Water Conservation District meets the second Thursday of the month of 7:30 p.m. in the Conference room downstairs in the Agricultural Building in Pittsboro. This is an open meeting. If you would like additional information please contact our office at (919) 542-8240. |

• Doris Betts and Karen Ladd will host a brown bag lunch discussion series for women on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, 17 and noon at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church parish hall. This event is part of the Friends of the Pittsboro Memorial Library Community Read. Call Karen Ladd at 542-4341 for more information. |

• There will be a pre-Holiday Concert at Jordan-Matthews High School on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 6 p.m. Chatham Central, and Jordan-Matthews will be featured in concert with gospel and holiday music. We will also have as special guest, Spirit of Praise The Chatham County Training School/Chatham High School Alumni Association Education Committee is sponsoring this event. The admission $3.00. The purpose of the concert is to help raise money for the Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded each year to deserving high school students to help further their education. |

• Friends of the Library will sponsor “The Metaphors of Our lives: Naming and Healing” Thursday , December 18. We will explore the power of the bee imagery in “The Secret Life of the Bees,” by Sue Monk Kidd, the library’s Community Read book for fall. |

• Chatham Trades, Inc. will hold its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the workshop, 909 Alston Bridge Road, Siler City. This year’s meeting will include a Pizza Party, door prizes, tours of the workshop, a report on the past year’s activities and future plans, and election of new members for the Board of Directors. The public is encouraged to attend. Individuals interested in services to persons with disabilities are encouraged to contact the workshop at 663-3481 for more information. |

•Christmas in Chatham: Parade of Homes sponsored by the Chatham County United Chamber of Commerce will be Sunday, Dec. 7 from 1-6 p.m. Five beautiful homes in Chatham County will be on the tour, featuring Aunt Bea’s former homeplace. Tickets are available for a $20 donation at Edwards Antiques in Pittsboro, the Chamber office in Siler City and WNCA Radio. |

•. The Chatham Central Regional Bands are having their annual fruit sale. The band is selling citrus fruits, as well as apples and gift boxes, and all are available for sale from any Chatham Central, Bonlee, Bennett or J.S. Waters band student. Proceeds from the sale will go to fund equipment and educational travel for the bands. |

• Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will be held at Confidential Tax Service at 161 Loves Creek Church Rd. in Siler City on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Don’t miss this great networking opportunity. |
