• Meet the author Lady Lorelei, December 19th at 5:00 p.m., Spectacle Books, 113 Siler Crossing.          

She will be signing her latest book – Gypsy Fortunes – which is packaged together with a newly designed Romany deck of cards!

• Chad Virgil, an investment representative with the financial-services firm Edward Jones, invites the public to attend an open house to celebrate the holidays.

The open house will be held Thursday, December 18th at 630 East Street, Suite 2, Pittsboro. 

Refreshments will be served. 

• The US Department of Agriculture announces that the USDA Rural Development Office in Sanford, located at 2416 Tramway Road will be closed on Thursday and Friday, December 25 and 26, 2003 in observance of the Christmas Holiday.  This office also services Chatham County Rural Development Borrowers.

• The American Red Cross has scheduled a blood drive, December 24, at the Chatham County Rescue Squad from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A second one will take place December 30, at Wal-Mart in Siler City, ON THE BUS,  10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

• The staff of the Pittsboro Memorial Library presents the annual Christmas Puppet Show on Friday, December 19 at 10:30 a.m.  The show will include “Claude the Dog’s Christmas”, “Forgetful Santa” and “The Night Before Christmas”. 

There will be a visit from a “Special Guest”. Children of all ages are invited to attend. 

• Come join the fun and music at Reno Sharpe’s Store, on the corner of Goldston-Pittsboro Rd. and Reno Sharpe Store Rd. between Pittsboro and Goldston, December 20 from 10:00 a.m. until.

If you pick, bring your instrument.  If you sing, bring your voice. If you just like listening, bring yourself.  Free and open to the public. 

• Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Pre-School  Storytime at McIntyre’s Fine Books & Bookends. For more information, call Sarah at (919) 542-3030.

Every Saturday at 1:00 p.m., Fowler’s of Fearrington will feature a free wine tasting every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Join Dan and his staff to pick up great tips on wine! Call 919-545-5717 for further information. 

Every Tuesday at  4:00 p.m., Farmers’ Market at Fearrington where  local farmers sell their finest products.  Located next to the Administration Building. Call 919-542-4000.
